Job summary

Waste Pro is seeking a Corporate Safety Specialist in Longwood, FL to monitor policy adherence and regulatory compliance. You will compile trends, report violations, and support safety leadership across the company.

The role requires coordinating with DOT/OSHA standards, maintaining documentation, and improving safety systems and processes. Valid driver license and field exposure are expected as part of occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in DOT and OSHA compliance.
• Experience in solid waste industry compliance preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication for reporting.
• Ability to read and interpret federal, state, and local regulations.
• Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Promotes a strong culture of safety and adherence to policies and procedures company wide.
• Tracks division and regional safety data and performance by monitoring DOT, OSHA, EPA, and company data.
• Monitors state and federal regulatory websites and updates information as required (FMCSA, OSHA, and state environmental agencies).
• Monitors performance and provides administrative support to regional and division management teams to improve compliance.
• Submits and monitors FMCSA disputes and citations; files Data Qs weekly; partners with divisions to respond to CSA citations with the DOT.
• Completes regulatory reporting including OSHA 300/301 logs and annual mileage, driver and vehicle counts required by the DOT.
• Manages access of internal and vendor safety systems and safety information in Contract Works system.
• Sets expirations dates for documents and sends expiring-document alerts to recipients.
• Takes ownership of compliance and communicates issues and solutions to VP and Director of Safety.
• Provides support to Corporate Safety Director and VP of Safety as needed.
• Attends corporation-sponsored training courses as assigned.
• Keeps up to date on current technology used by Waste Pro USA.
