Job summary

All American Waste is seeking a Safety Specialist to assist in monitoring and coordinating safety programs, including OSHA and DOT compliance, audits, and training. You will analyze incidents, advise on procedures, and support safety mentors and interns while ensuring timely investigations and workers' compensation coordination.

The role requires a BS/BA in a related field, a valid driver's license, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid Driver's License and vehicle insurance.
• Ability to travel.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and communicate compliance with company-wide safety programs such as fleet safety, lockout/tagout, confined space, fall protection, and other safety compliance programs.
• Advise the Safety Manager on procedures to ensure regulatory compliance as mandated by OSHA and DOT.
• Monitors, tracks, and communicates safety incidents across the company.
• Analyze accident and incident reports for trends and make recommendations to correct unsafe conditions.
• Leads and/or guides safety mentors and student interns.
• Assists with the investigation of incidents and injuries from initial report to closure.
• Workers' Compensation liaison with managers, employees, brokers, insurance carriers, safety, and HR.
• Active role in improving safety and health in the workplace.
