Job summary

Arcwood Environmental, LLC is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support health, safety, and compliance across facility operations in the United States. You will help implement safety programs, monitor work practices, and respond to on-site emergencies, including medical assessments and equipment inspections.

The role emphasizes audits, safety sign maintenance, and program oversight (First-Aid, Respirator, and Housekeeping).

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Bachelor’s degree in a safety-related field (preferred).
• First-Aid/CPR/AED certification (preferred).
• 1+ years of experience working within health and safety related programs (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times.
• Assists with the implementation of safety and compliance processes and procedures.
• Provides support and oversight in reviewing and monitoring work practices of team members while on site.
• Maintains the ability to be on-call to respond to emergency medical situations at the facility and escorts team members for medical assessment as needed.
• Performs daily, weekly and monthly inspections of all emergency equipment and maintains, cleans and restocks materials as needed.
• Monitors, calibrates and maintains safety equipment and performs inspections of all safety signs.
• Inspects all production processes for appropriate fire suppression equipment.
• Conducts key procedure audits across the facility, including review and entry.
• Oversees the Short-Service Employee Program and the Respirator Program, including employee approval, fit test, tracking, etc.
• Monitors and provides oversight for the First-Aid Program, including supplying first-aid kits and stocking cabinet appropriately and training and certifying team members.
• Manages the Housekeeping Program, Heat Stress Program, and Safe Work Permit Program, including training, audits, reviews, and facility checks.
• Serves as a Co-Chair for facility safety roundtable meetings
• Conducts Post-Accident and Reasonable Suspicion drug and alcohol screening
• Performs occasional, scheduled visits for the night-shift
• Maintains and updates safety data sheet materials including via hard and digital copies
• Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization
