Safety Compliance Coordinator - Careers - Details

The Safety Compliance Coordinator is an integral part of the Safety Team. The coordinator will ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations and company standards. Additionally, the position is responsible for driver on-boarding and orientation. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced, multi-tasking role that requires an expert level of attention to detail.

An overview of the coordinator role:

Compliance

1. Monitor, enforce and report on DOT and FMCSA (Federal Motor Safety Carrier Administration) regulations to ensure compliance.
2. Manage Drug & Alcohol testing process in accordance with FMCSA.
3. Field questions and provide support to drivers to keep qualification files compliant.
4. Ensure appropriate insurance requirements are met for contractors.

Orientation

1. Manage the driver orientation and on-boarding process.
2. Schedule, prepare, and complete driver orientation.
3. Confirm initial compliance items such as license status, DOT physical and DOT physical self-certification, drug screening, and insurance.
4. Enter drivers into dispatch software (TMW) and Tenstreet.

Licensing and Credentials

1. Lease agreements - entering tractors and trailers.
2. Yearly credentials and file maintenance.

Support Administration

1. Scan and file documents as needed.
2. Gather required accident reporting information to send to insurance.
3. Assist the safety team with incoming phone calls and inquiries.
4. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

1. Transportation and/or logistics industry experience is preferred.
2. Experience with regulatory agencies required (DOT, OSHA); knowledge of FMCSA Hours of Service Regulations.
3. Expert level knowledge of DOT Compliance regulations and FMCSA regulations.
4. Keen attention to detail.
5. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced work setting.
