OSF HealthCare is seeking a Safety Companion to provide continuous observation of assigned patients, ensuring safety and comfort through light patient care tasks, repositioning, ambulation assistance, bathing and feeding as needed.

This role documents relevant information in the patient record, communicates with the care team, and supports patients of all ages. Minimum HS diploma, CPR-BLS certification, and 1 year of customer service experience preferred.

Qualifications

• CPR certification: American Heart Association HealthCare Provider - BLS (within 90 days of onboarding).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

Responsabilités

Expected pay for this position is $17.66 - $19.63/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The Safety Companion provides continuous, attentive observation of assigned patients to maintain their safety. This role performs light patient care tasks, which may include repositioning, ambulation assistance, bathing, feeding, and other activities of daily living. The Safety Companion documents relevant information in the patient record and communicates effectively with the care team to promote seamless, high-quality care. Responsibilities may vary based on departmental needs and the specific support required for patients of all age groups, contributing to each patient’s comfort and well-being.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Licensure/ Certification:

• CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider - BLS (within 90 days of onboarding)

Other Skills/ Knowledge:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
