Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a Safety Companion to provide continuous observation of assigned patients, ensuring safety and comfort through light patient care tasks, repositioning, ambulation assistance, bathing and feeding as needed.

This role documents relevant information in the patient record, communicates with the care team, and supports patients of all ages. Minimum HS diploma, CPR-BLS certification, and 1 year of customer service experience preferred.

Qualifications

• CPR certification: American Heart Association HealthCare Provider - BLS (within 90 days of onboarding).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous, attentive observation of assigned patients to maintain safety.
• Assist with activities of daily living (repositioning, ambulation, bathing, feeding).
• Document relevant information in the patient record accurately.
• Communicate effectively with the care team to promote high-quality care.
