Job summary

Amazon in Perrysburg, OH is seeking a Workplace Health & Safety Specialist to elevate safety culture, protect employees, and drive data-informed improvements across operations. You will lead audits, investigations, and risk assessments, delivering trainings that engage and empower associates.

You will advocate for front-line safety, build partnerships with leadership, and translate safety data into actionable narratives to boost engagement and performance.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent is required.
• 1 year in an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) related field or a Bachelor’s degree in EHS-related background or 6 months experience in a safety-related role within Amazon.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations specifically 29 CFR 1910.
• Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional capacity.
• Experience maintaining confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personnel issues in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily safety audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments with data-driven strategies.
• Deliver engaging safety training that promotes a proactive safety culture.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance workplace safety and operational efficiency.
• Serve as a trusted safety advisor and advocate for associate wellbeing across all levels of the organization.
• Translate safety data into compelling narratives to influence positive change and drive engagement in safety initiatives.
• Assist emergency response and maintain effective care delivery in emergencies at the site.
• Lift up to 49 pounds and stand/walk for long shifts (up to 12 hours).
