Job summary

Block by Block is hiring a Safety Ambassador for the 2nd shift in Akron, OH. You will patrol the assigned zone on foot or by bike, deter unwanted behavior, and assist pedestrians with directions while maintaining a professional demeanor.

You must have a valid Ohio driver's license, be at least 18, and be able to obtain the Ohio Private Investigator Security Guard licensure. This outdoor role requires English reporting skills; we offer weekly pay, pay advances, PTO, and free uniforms.

Qualifications

• Experience required. We will train.
• Valid OH Driver's License required.
• Must have a H.S. Diploma or GED
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have the physical capacity to walk or traverse (including riding a bike) continuously during an eight-hour shift, with two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch break.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions (free uniforms provided)
• Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language in order to create basic reports.

Responsibilities

• Patrol the assigned zone on foot and/ or bike as a deterrent and be on the lookout for unwanted behavior and activity.
• Provide information, assistance, and directions to pedestrians and visitors. Must maintain a positive, professional demeanor at all times.
• Be watchful for unwanted behaviors or criminal activity and report to local authorities via established communication methods. Must be able to articulate an accurate description of persons, vehicles, and other identifiers.
• Firmly and courteously request compliance from persons violating low-level quality-of-life crimes, such as panhandling, loitering, disruptive behavior, etc.
• Actively acknowledge and engage pedestrians with a friendly greeting/smile in order to provide directions and city information.
• Responsible for making a specified number of visits to zone businesses to share information and gather contact information.
• Must be able to complete basic daily reports of tasks completed, which requires being proficient in speaking, reading and writing the English language.

Job Description

Pay Range: $17.00to $17.00 per hour (Weekly Pay & Pay Advance Before Pay Day!)

Shift/Schedule:

• Wed. from 2:00pm to 9:00pm
• Thu., Fri. & Sat. from 2:00pm to 11:00pm

Valid Driver's License REQUIRED

MUST have the ability to obtain Ohio Private Investigator Security Guard Licensure
