Job summary

Block by Block California is seeking a Safety Ambassador to patrol assigned zones, assist the public, and report incidents during the 3rd shift. The role emphasizes customer service, safety awareness, and reliable documentation of daily activities.

Eligible candidates will possess a guard card, be able to work outdoors in all conditions, and communicate clearly in English. Weekly pay, pay advances, PTO, and free uniforms are offered, with opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Guard card required and willingness to train.
• Ability to work 3rd shift/overnight.
• Must be 18+ and able to walk or bike for eight hours.
• English reading/writing for basic reports.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned zones on foot or by bike to deter unwanted activity.
• Provide information and directions to pedestrians and visitors.
• Report any disturbances to local authorities with accurate details.
• Engage with the public in a friendly, professional manner.

Pay Range: $23.50 per hour (Weekly Pay & Pay Advance Before Pay Day!)

What You'll Be Doing :

• Patrol the assigned zone on foot and/ or bike as a deterrent and be on the lookout for unwanted behavior and activity.
• Provide information, assistance and directions to pedestrians and visitors. Must maintain a positive, professional demeanor at all times.
• Be watchful for unwanted behaviors or criminal activity and report to local authorities via established communication methods. Must be able to articulate an accurate description of persons, vehicles, and other identifiers.
• Firmly and courteously request compliance to persons violating low level quality of life crimes, such as panhandling, loitering, disruptive behavior, etc.
• Actively acknowledge and engage pedestrians with a friendly greeting/smile in order to provide directions and city information.
• Responsible for making a specified number of visits to zone businesses to share information and gather contact information.
• Must be able to complete basic daily reports of tasks completed which requires being proficient in speaking, reading and writing the English language.

• Guard Card required
• Must have a H.S. Diploma or GED
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have the physical capacity to walk or traverse (including riding a bike) continuously during an eight-hour shift, with two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch break.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions (free uniforms provided)
• Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language in order to create basic reports.
