Job summary

Block by Block in Louisville is seeking a Safety Ambassador to patrol assigned zones on foot or by bike, deter unwanted behavior, and provide directions to pedestrians. You will remain friendly and professional while reporting suspicious activity to local authorities as needed.

Responsibilities include engaging with the public, visiting local businesses, and completing daily reports in English. This is a 2nd shift position with pay of $20.00 per hour and weekly pay, plus benefits and uniforms.

Qualifications

• Experience ( preferred/required ). We will train.
• Must have a H.S. Diploma or GED
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language in order to create basic reports.

• Patrol the assigned zone on foot and/or bike as a deterrent and be on the lookout for unwanted behavior and activity.
• Provide information, assistance, and directions to pedestrians and visitors. Must maintain a positive, professional demeanor at all times.
• Be watchful for unwanted behaviors or criminal activity and report to local authorities via established communication methods.
• Firmly and courteously request compliance from persons violating low-level quality-of-life crimes, such as panhandling, loitering, disruptive behavior, etc.
• Actively acknowledge and engage pedestrians with a friendly greeting/smile in order to provide directions and city information.
• Responsible for making a specified number of visits to zone businesses to share information and gather contact information.
• Must be able to complete basic daily reports of tasks completed,which requires being proficient in speaking, reading, and writing the English language.

Job Description

Pay Range: $20.00to $20.00per hour (Weekly Pay & Pay Advance Before Payday!)

Shift/Schedule:

• 2nd shift schedule - 2:00pm to 10:30pm
  • Position 1 OFF Days = Wed. & Thu.
  • Position 2 OFF Days = Thu. & Fri.

Valid Driver's License PREFERRED
