Position Summary

Under the direction of the Safety and Security Manager, the Safety and Security Officer performs safety and security tasks to mitigate risks to workers and protect NAPI property. This includes maintaining high visibility to deter illegal actions, observing for signs of crime, fire, or disorder through patrols or surveillance, and reporting incidents to NAPI and emergency services as appropriate.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

The following are essential functions and may not include all duties:

Safety Duties & Responsibilities

• Respond to and investigate reports of accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases.
• Administer first aid and conduct alcohol testing as needed.
• Document incidents and maintain environmental records.
• Ensure availability and proper use of PPE and safety equipment.
• Provide safety training to employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Operate and calibrate safety detection devices.
• Test workplaces for hazards and review safety equipment specifications.
• Report environmental contaminant analyses and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with licensing requirements and suspend activities posing health or safety threats.
• Respond to emergencies 24/7 during the season or as needed.

Security Duties & Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access to premises, and report irregularities.
• Patrol premises to prevent intrusion and ensure security.
• Escort individuals and operate security detection devices.
• Inspect and maintain security systems and equipment.

Other Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members and treat others with respect and professionalism.
• Provide information and assistance to customers and visitors.
• Maintain punctuality and dependability at the worksite.
• Comply with environmental, health, and safety policies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
