Job summary

Kent Companies seeks a Safety Coordinator in our National Data Center & Advanced Manufacturing division in Washington, DC. You will promote an incident-free environment by implementing safety programs, leading trainings, and coordinating with field teams and project staff.

You will inspect sites, manage investigations, oversee PPE, run Toolbox Talks, and ensure compliance with safety plans while traveling nationally. This role requires strong leadership and hands-on safety experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in environmental safety & health, or 3–5 years in construction safety.
• OSHA 500, CSMC, or Construction Safety Site Technician certification.
• OSHA 510 certification.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to worksites.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
• United States work authorization without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and update safety rules and SOPs and communicate changes to field teams.
• Lead safety events, stand-downs, and required trainings.
• Review accidents, injuries, and near-miss investigations and ensure corrective actions.
• Implement Toolbox Talks and develop site-specific safety contacts.
• Perform site inspections/audits and distribute safety reports to project teams.
• Support workers' compensation/auto/property-damage claims on jobsites.
• Investigate injuries, coordinate medical treatment, and oversee post-accident drug testing.
• Implement Return-to-Work and PPE programs; ensure training is current.
• Enforce Site Specific Safety Plans and coordinate with field safety officers.
