Job summary

Catapult Federal Services seeks an experienced Safety Advisor to oversee field safety across underground utility and infrastructure projects in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. The role focuses on improving safety performance, ensuring OSHA compliance, and supporting excavation and heavy civil construction operations.

The ideal candidate has hands-on construction safety experience, strong knowledge of excavation/trenching hazards, and excellent communication to lead crews and coordinate with project

Qualifications

  • Prior construction safety experience is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction standards.
  • Knowledge of excavation, trenching, confined spaces, heavy equipment, and utility construction hazards.
  • Experience conducting jobsite inspections and safety audits.
  • Experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain company safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections and field observations.
  • Identify hazards and work with field leadership to implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and applicable construction safety standards.
  • Support underground utility, excavation, trenching, and heavy civil construction operations.
  • Lead incident investigations, reporting, documentation, and root cause analysis.
  • Partner with operations and project leadership to integrate safety expectations with project execution.
  • Conduct safety meetings, toolbox talks, and employee training.
  • Coordinate required safety certifications and maintain accurate training and compliance records.
  • Monitor PPE usage and overall jobsite safety practices.
  • Assist with regulatory inspections and OSHA-related audits.
  • Help reinforce a proactive safety culture across field operations.

About Our Client

Our client is a growing underground utility construction operation supporting major infrastructure projects throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth market.


Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to support field operations, improve jobsite safety performance, and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards across underground utility and infrastructure projects. This role works closely with field leadership, project management, and construction crews, and requires hands-on construction safety experience along with strong knowledge of excavation and underground utility operations. Bilingual English/Spanish is required.


Duties And Responsibilities

Required Experience/Skills


  • Previous construction safety experience required

  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction standards

  • Knowledge of excavation, trenching, confined spaces, heavy equipment, and utility construction hazards

  • Experience conducting jobsite inspections and safety audits

  • Experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis

  • Strong communication and leadership skills

  • Ability to build relationships with field crews, supervisors, and project leadership

  • Comfortable working in an active construction environment and traveling between project sites

  • Bilingual English/Spanish required


Nice-to-Haves


  • Experience within underground utilities, excavation, heavy civil construction, or infrastructure construction strongly preferred

  • CHST, CSP, or similar safety certification is a plus
