Qualified applicants will hold a Maryland driver’s license, have a clean driving record, and demonstrate clear verbal and written communication. This is a 10‑month, non-exempt position with hourly pay of $16.38–$22.18.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older.
• Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form.
• Three written and verified references on file.
• Valid Maryland driver's license.
• No more than 2 points on driving record and satisfactory past driving record.

Responsibilities

• Transport pupils assigned to the van.
• Follow time schedules and routes as prescribed.
• Attend all trainings and meetings.
• Pick up and discharge students at designated stops.
• Report all student behavior problems.
• Ensure students are aware of safety procedures and rules.
• Report vehicle breakdowns immediately by radio or cellphone.
• Report all traffic accidents immediately by radio or cellphone.
• Do not move vehicle until all students are seated.
• Conduct daily pre- and post-service inspections.
• Provide assistance to students crossing roadways.
• Cooperate with school administrators and Transportation staff.
• Refrain from backing the vehicle without assistance.
• Use appropriate language at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
