Job summary

Breaking Ground in New York City seeks a Residential Aide to support Crane Safe Haven and related housing programs. You will assist in service delivery, monitor the premises, greet residents, conduct rounds, and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment with staff support.

The position includes intake processing, documentation, and client engagement, under supervision. A valid driver’s license is preferred; CPR/First Aid is a plus.

Qualifications

• Two years of related experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED; Associates degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the area and provide resources to clients.
• Maintain a welcoming, safe environment for clients.
• Make rounds to ensure safety and security.
• Document incidents and participate in crisis interventions.
• Record keeping including daily attendance and shift reports.
• Greet visitors and direct them to destinations.
• Circulate among residents to preserve order and protect property.
• Process intakes and logs; distribute mail.
• Serve meals and complete food safety requirements.
• Screen residents/visitors and packages.
• Use vehicle to transport clients as directed by supervision.
• Provide relief support for 311 operations.
• Facilitate onsite laundry and shower resources.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
