Toast: SMB Field Sales Representative

Toast is driven by building the restaurant platform that helps restaurants adapt, take control, and get back to what they do best: building the businesses they love.

As an SMB Field Sales Representative, you will be part of a team transforming the way restaurants operate. Using a consultative approach, you will prospect, build relationships, and sign up new restaurateurs in your local area. By understanding their unique needs, you will develop customized solutions that help their businesses thrive. We need your passion and sales expertise to help us build the Toast brand in your geographic territory.

This is a WFH field sales opportunity. Candidates must live locally to Sacramento, CA, or be willing to relocate.

About this role
  • Generate a list of prospective restaurants and manage the entire sales cycle from initial contact to close (experience with self-sourcing clients is a plus)
  • Conduct demos and develop solutions tailored to the prospect’s needs
  • Partner with teams across the business to ensure delivery meets expectations set during sales
  • Leverage Salesforce (our CRM) to manage all sales activities
  • Understand the competitive landscape and position Toast effectively in the market
Do you have the right ingredients?
  • 1+ years of experience in sourcing or closing sales roles, restaurant operations, or related fields
  • Reliable transportation (will reimburse mileage), as this is a field position
  • Strong communication, organizational, and presentation skills with the ability to sell and negotiate at all decision levels
  • Proven success in meeting and exceeding goals
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and team environment
  • Self-motivated, creative, and adaptable
  • General technical proficiency with software; experience with Salesforce CRM is a plus

The estimated Total Targeted Cash compensation range for this role is $129,000 — $206,000 USD, including base salary, commission, and potential equity/benefits. Starting salary depends on skills, experience, and location. This role qualifies for uncapped commissions.
