Job summary

MEMSPA is seeking a part-time SACC aide for L’Anse Creuse Public Schools in Michigan. The role involves working with children, facilitating activities, and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment. Applicants must be 18+, have experience with children, strong communication skills, and be ready for background checks and fingerprinting.

CPR/First Aid certification is preferred. Position hours include Tue/Thu after 3:45 PM seasonally with January start, with potential site flexibility.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• Enjoy working with children.
• Excellent communication skills and professional work ethics.
• Completion of background check and DHS clearance plus fingerprinting required before start date.
• Willing to be CPR/First Aid certified.

Responsibilities

• Interact with the children individually and in groups so that special needs are met.
• Involve the children in planning activities and decision-making for both small and large group activities.
• Assist in preparing and maintaining a clean, safe, and inviting environment.
• Assist in establishing and maintaining good communication with parents.
• Protect the privacy of the families enrolled by observing confidentiality rules.
• Maintain a pleasant atmosphere for all children by using positive and consistent guidance.
• Attend monthly meetings and training workshops.
• Help children with their homework.
• Perform other duties as designed by site director & program director.

October 15 – December 18 Tuesday and Thursday, 3:45PM – 6 PM

Beginning January 4th: Monday and Thursday 3:45 PM – 6 PM and Wednesday 2:45 PM – 6 PM

***May be utilized at other sites***

*SACC employees may bring their school-aged children that attend LCPS to SACC, without charge for tuition, during their working hours.
