Job summary

Biorce is seeking an Engineering Manager, SaaS, to drive the Engineering function from the Barcelona hub while expanding in the U.S. This role focuses on delivery health, hiring, and coaching across multiple squads in a regulated environment, with strong emphasis on AI-enabled delivery and governance.

You will oversee 5–8 engineers, grow to 12–15, ensure timely delivery, and partner with Product and AI Research to maintain quality and speed in production-grade systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a strong senior engineer on distributed systems or SaaS platforms before leading
• Led two or more teams concurrently, roughly 10-20 engineers, or managed through tech leads
• Typically 4+ years managing after a senior IC run
• Built teams, sourcing, hiring, developing, and managing out, the full cycle
• Experience in regulated or audited delivery environments, such as health, fintech, or government
• Comfortable shipping against a hard release gate with audit trails
• Able to read code, challenge designs, and judge AI-generated code quality
• Strong delivery ownership and accountability for squad outcomes

Responsibilities

• Lead 5-8 engineers across one or two squads, with growth to 12-15 across more squads
• Own delivery health, lead time, change-failure rate, and release rhythm
• Maintain AI governance with human review before merges
• Partner with AI Research on model-quality workstreams
• Collaborate with Product on a shared scoreboard for outcomes and priorities
• Protect squads as central contact for Head of Engineering
• Develop engineers and tech leads through coaching and performance mgmt
• Lead hiring for the group from sourcing to offers
