Job summary

Sylvania seeks after-school staff to provide tutoring, academic enrichment, mentoring, homework help, and a range of music, arts, sports, and cultural activities to support student learning and development.

You will work 1–2 hours per day, 1–5 days a week, delivering caring, engaging instruction and creating a positive classroom atmosphere aligned with the 21st CCLC program goals.

• General knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.

POSITION SUMMARY

Provide after school services to support student learning and development including academic enrichment, tutoring, mentoring, homework help, as well as music, arts, sports, and cultural activities.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• 21st CCLC classroom staff will display a joy of teaching as an intellectual profession
• Maintain an atmosphere conducive to learning
• Adhere to goals and objectives of the 21st CCLC program which includes increased participant academic achievement
• Provide classroom and/or tutoring assistance

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
• General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent or
• An Associate’s degree or higher degree or
• At least two years of study at an institution of higher education
• Any equivalent combination of training, education that meets minimum requirement

EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION

• $30 per hour (Support and Certified)
• 1-2 hours per day
• 1-5 days a week
