Job summary

Genentech is seeking an RWD Scientist to generate insights from real-world data to inform clinical development, regulatory strategy, and healthcare decision-making. You will design and execute observational studies, contribute to data strategy, and collaborate across teams within Development and the broader Pharma organization.

Your work enables evidence generation across therapeutic areas and supports responsible, impactful use of RWD at scale.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Economics, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience with healthcare or real-world data in applied research settings; or an advanced degree with 0–2 years of equivalent experience.
• Experience using statistical software (R, SAS, Python) for data analysis.
• Ability to think independently and make principled decisions.
• Strong strategic agility and problem-solving & critical thinking; cross-cultural collaboration.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain complex concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute observational studies using real-world data.
• Identify relevant real-world data sources and assess feasibility.
• Apply observational study methods to interpret results.
• Develop expertise in novel data types and analytical methods.
• Ensure compliance with guidelines and data science processes.
• Support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement in RWD methodology.
