Job summary

Genentech’s Real-World & Clinical Data Strategy (RWCDS) team seeks a Principal Data Innovation Specialist (RWD) to prototype, scale, and apply novel data methods across product development. Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field with 6+ years of experience.
• Proven success in AI-driven analytics and multi-agent architectures.
• Strong experience with agile development and innovation lifecycles (Lean Startup/Design Thinking).
• Strategic thinker with independent problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration.
• Excellent cross-cultural communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Prototype, validate, and scale AI capabilities and multi-agent architectures.
• Lead robust data engineering to design scalable data pipelines for multi-modal data.
• Drive analytical projects exploring novel data types, automated agent-driven workflows, and knowledge graphs.
• Partner with scientists, engineers, and product teams to pilot data innovations.
• Develop low-/no-code analytics platforms for broader data access and reuse of experimental data approaches.
• Mentor team members on new data tools and agent architectures.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations (HIPAA, GDPR).
