Job summary

Pima Medical Institute in California is seeking a part-time Veterinary Assistant Instructor (RVT) to lead and deliver the Veterinary Nursing programs in line with curriculum standards. You will guide students, prepare lectures, and supervise lab activities to ensure competency and success.

The role requires a Registered Veterinary Technician with a current license, strong communication skills, and the ability to coordinate guest speakers, externships, and evaluations while maintaining student

Qualifications

• Associate degree from AVMA CVTEA-accredited program recognized by education authorities.
• Three (3) years of occupational experience in veterinary field.
• Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) with valid license.
• Must hold current license or designation as required by law to work in veterinary field.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other computer tools.

Responsibilities

• Implement and evaluate daily lesson plans with activities and materials for veterinary courses.
• Plan instruction to meet objectives aligned with curriculum.
• Prepare lectures and practical demonstrations for class and individual students.
• Monitor lab competencies and confirm skill levels using checklists.
• Track student attendance and coordinate with program leadership on absences.
• Meet with students to encourage retention and maintain an 80% success rate.
• Evaluate student performance and update records and transcripts.
• Arrange guest speakers, field trips, and externship visits.
