Qualifications

• Current RVT or CVT credential.
• Associate degree from AVMA CVTEA‑accredited program.
• Minimum 3 years of practical veterinary technician experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to demonstrate veterinary procedures and patient restraint techniques.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans and hands‑on lab demonstrations aligned with the curriculum.
• Monitor lab competencies and confirm student skill levels using standardized checklists.
• Evaluate student performance and maintain an 80% student success rate.
• Track student attendance and coordinate with leadership regarding absences.
• Mentor students through academic challenges and provide targeted intervention.
• Maintain accurate student grades and records per policies.
• Coordinate guest speakers, field trips, and visits to clinics.
• Enforce safety protocols and monitor classroom and lab environments.

Pima Medical Institute is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician to join our faculty at our Colorado Springs campus. In this role, you will bring your clinical expertise into the classroom and lab, guiding the next generation of veterinary nursing professionals through hands‑on instruction, mentorship, and real‑world skill development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans and hands‑on lab demonstrations aligned with the established veterinary nursing curriculum.


• Monitor lab competencies and confirm student skill levels using standardized checklists.


• Evaluate student performance and maintain an 80% student success rate for all classes taught.
