Job summary

Pima Medical Institute is seeking a part-time Veterinary Technician Instructor to join our Aurora campus. The instructor will bring clinical expertise into the classroom and lab, guiding the next generation of veterinary nursing professionals through hands-on instruction, mentorship, and real-world skill development.

The role requires RVT or CVT credentials, an AVMA CVTEA-accredited associate degree, and at least 3 years of practical experience.

Qualifications

  • Credential as RVT or CVT is required.
  • Associate degree from AVMA CVTEA‑accredited program.
  • Minimum 3 years of practical veterinary technician experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to demonstrate veterinary procedures and patient restraint techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans and hands-on lab demonstrations aligned with the veterinary nursing curriculum.
  • Monitor lab competencies and confirm student skill levels using standardized checklists.
  • Evaluate student performance and maintain an 80% student success rate for all classes taught.
  • Track student attendance and coordinate with leadership regarding absences.
  • Mentor students through academic challenges and provide targeted intervention and support.
  • Maintain accurate student grades and records per established policies.
  • Coordinate guest speakers, field trips, and visits to veterinary clinics to enrich the student experience.
  • Enforce safety protocols and monitor classroom and lab environments.

Veterinary Technician Instructor
Location: Pima Medical Institute - Aurora Campus | On-Site
Position Type: Part-time Mon - Fri - 8-12, 20 hours
Compensation: $31.00 – $38.75 per hour

Pima Medical Institute is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician to join our faculty at our Aurora campus. In this role, you will bring your clinical expertise into the classroom and lab, guiding the next generation of veterinary nursing professionals through hands-on instruction, mentorship, and real-world skill development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans and hands-on lab demonstrations aligned with the established veterinary nursing curriculum.
