Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Seattle seeks a senior engineer to drive Java-to-Rust migrations as a memory/latency optimization lever. You will own migrations end-to-end from analysis to cutover, applying a decision framework and ranking APIs by traffic to reduce DRAM usage.

Qualifications

• Must have strong Rust development experience and memory optimization focus.
• Deep knowledge of Java/JVM internals for migration work.
• Experience with distributed systems and AWS environments.
• Ability to lead AI agent-driven development and testing initiatives.
• Proven ability to own migrations end-to-end with minimal regression.

Responsibilities

• Drive Java-to-Rust migrations as a DRAM-reduction lever: identify memory/latency-bound services and own migration end-to-end from analysis to cutover.
• Define type hierarchies, module boundaries, and API contracts; unblock Rustify agents and push framework improvements.
• Establish correctness via progressive zero-diff testing and validate Rust implementation against production traffic.
• Implement on target stack and optimize for memory using Smithy SDK, ECS Fargate, and AWS tooling; profile and quantify savings.
• Execute safe rollout with canary-to-100% and observability dashboards; ensure API compatibility with upstream/downstream teams.
