Job summary

Oureon Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer, Autonomy to design and implement the decision and control layer of our autonomy software.

You will build real-time, low-latency autonomy modules in Rust, focusing on motion planning, collision avoidance, and multi-agent coordination. You will collaborate with systems and platform engineers to ensure reliable performance across diverse hardware, simulation frameworks, and telemetry pipelines.

Qualifications

• Deep proficiency in Rust.
• Strong foundation in path planning, motion control, or optimization.
• Experience with real-time or near-real-time systems.
• Familiarity with data streaming and telemetry pipelines.
• Hands-on simulation, modeling, or hardware-in-the-loop testing.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement the autonomy decision and control layer, including motion planning, trajectory generation, and collision/deconfliction logic.
• Build high-performance, low-latency autonomy modules in Rust.
• Develop and optimize algorithms for path planning, constraint-based optimization, and multi-agent coordination.
• Integrate autonomy components with real-time data, messaging, and telemetry systems (NATS JetStream, Redis, PostgreSQL).
• Implement robust state machines, control logic, and behavioral frameworks for autonomous execution.
• Collaborate with systems and platform engineers to ensure autonomy modules perform across hardware and environments.
• Contribute to simulation frameworks and testing infrastructure for validating autonomy behavior.
