Job summary

Feldera is seeking a Rust backend engineer to own the core Feldera control plane and the Kubernetes layer that runs them. You’ll design and build the APIs and services that customers depend on to deploy, manage, and scale Feldera data pipelines, and lead enterprise-grade capabilities—authentication, SSO, multi-tenancy, and cloud integration—safely on customers’ own infrastructure.

You’ll work fully remotely with a small, technical team across time zones, delivering observable, reliable systems

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Rust or systems programming with ramp to Rust.
• Experience building backend services and distributed systems in production.
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience: controllers/operators and reliable services.
• Familiar with authentication, SSO, multi-tenancy, and security standards.
• Solid Linux fundamentals and comfort with Dockerized environments.
• Strong troubleshooting for distributed systems.
• Self-directed with excellent communication in a remote team.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the control-plane services that orchestrate pipelines across diverse environments.
• Evolve the Kubernetes layer for Feldera pipelines with reliable deployment workflows.
• Build security, isolation, and multi-tenancy capabilities for enterprise use.
• Develop cloud and self-hosted deployment support from laptops to multi-node clusters.
• Design clean, stable APIs for the control plane used by teams and customers.
• Ensure observability, debuggability, and resilience of the control plane.
• Debug complex distributed-systems issues across the control plane and Kubernetes layer.
