Job summary

The Center for Rural Affairs in Grand Island, NE is hiring a Loan Specialist-Central Nebraska. This full-time hybrid role supports small business and farm borrowers through the lending process, from application to documentation and records management.

You will work with underwriting staff, monitor loan performance, and provide ongoing customer service while engaging rural entrepreneurs and partners to promote lending programs and connect clients with resources.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and customer service to interact with borrowers, colleagues, and community partners.
• Finance, loans knowledge to analyze financial information, explain loan products, and support lending decisions.
• Underwriting-related skills to assist in evaluating creditworthiness, reviewing documentation, and ensuring compliance with lending policies.
• Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple cases, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records.
• Comfort with a hybrid environment and proficiency in basic office software and loan management systems.
• Experience with rural communities, small business or agricultural lending; bilingual abilities are a plus.
• An associate or bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience, is preferred.
