State of Oregon – Department of Human Services in Baker City is seeking an Eligibility Worker (Public Benefits Specialist) to determine eligibility for ODHS programs and connect families with resources. This in-person role is based in the Baker City office in rural eastern Oregon, with an emphasis on accurate data entry and clear communication with diverse clients.

You will interview applicants, perform determinations, and update narratives, while adhering to equity goals and ensuring thorough

Competenze

• One year of experience at Human Services Specialist 1 level or two years of public-facing experience.
• Experience interpreting and applying policies, rules, or guidelines.
• Associate degree in Behavioral Science, Social Science or related field and six months of public-facing experience.
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Mansioni

• Perform eligibility determinations, redeterminations and periodic reviews for ODHS and partner programs.
• Interview applicants in person, by phone, and by email to gather information for benefit decisions.
• Assess client needs and connect families to resources and programs.
• Update narrative reports summarizing new information from clients and collateral sources.
