Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Psychiatrist to join a rural Eastern Oregon Critical Access Hospital and Level IV Trauma Center in La Grande.

This full-time position offers four 10-hour days, day shift, and relocation assistance. You will conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, oversee pharmacologic treatments, collaborate with primary care and behavioral health teams, and contribute to clinical protocols.

Qualifications

• MD degree from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited psychiatry residency.
• Active, unrestricted state medical license.
• Board certification or eligibility in general psychiatry.
• Commitment to high-quality care in a community setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and follow-up care for a diverse rural patient population.
• Oversee pharmacological treatments and monitor patient progress for safety and efficacy.
• Partner with Primary Care and Behavioral Health teams to provide whole-patient care.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for acute and chronic mental health conditions.
• Serve as a subject matter expert to support the behavioral health team and protocol development.
• Utilize Epic EMR for timely and accurate charting.
• Provide psychiatric consultation within the Level IV Trauma Center for acute stabilization.
• Engage in community initiatives to reduce stigma and improve access to care.

Education

Medical Degree (MD) from an accredited school

ACGME-accredited Residency in Psychiatry

Active, unrestricted State Medical License

Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Psychiatry
