Lone Star Legal Aid seeks a Staff Attorney for its Rural Justice Initiative across Belton, Bryan, Beaumont, Conroe, Clute, Longview, Nacogdoches, Paris, Texarkana, Tyler, and Waco branches. The attorney will gather evidence, handle civil litigation, draft documents, interview clients, and educate the community in civil rights advocacy.

Licensed Texas attorney with strong writing and advocacy skills is required; bilingual Spanish/English is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Law School.
• Licensed to practice in Texas or qualify for reciprocity.
• Prior public-interest or legal services experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Gather evidence and conduct civil lawsuits.
• Draft legal documents and advise clients on legal rights.
• Interview clients and witnesses; prepare for representation.
• Represent clients in court and before agencies.
• Bilingual (Spanish & English) skills preferred.
• Supervise staff and coordinate volunteers or students.
