Disability Rights Texas is seeking a RJI Project Attorney Supervisor to lead the Rural Justice Initiative across Texas counties. The role oversees project implementation, manages regional teams, and ensures grant compliance while delivering direct legal services as needed.

The ideal candidate has a JD, Texas bar admission, at least five years of relevant experience, and a track record in disability rights, education law, or public benefits work. Significant travel across rural areas is expected.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in Texas in good standing.
• Minimum five years of relevant legal experience.
• Experience serving low-income or underserved populations.
• Ability to travel regularly across rural Texas.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day implementation of the Rural Justice Initiative.
• Coordinate regional teams, staff, and project deliverables.
• Track program outcomes and prepare funder reports.
• Provide limited direct legal representation as approved.
• Develop and monitor grant compliance and service delivery.
• Offer legal guidance and mentorship to project staff.
• Engage community partners and coordinate training.
• Ensure compliance with DRTx policies and grant requirements.
