Job summary
Actalent in Burnsville, MN is seeking a Systems Engineer to define, develop, and refine requirements for complex electro‑mechanical cabinet-based systems including servers, networking, cabling, and GUI displays. You will provide technical leadership across system development, analysis, and design in a hands‑on, small team environment.
The role focuses on collaborating with customers to translate needs into clear specifications, leading design activities, and supporting production transitions.
Qualifications
- Degreed engineer capable of working across mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines.
- Experience developing and documenting system requirements for electro‑mechanical products.
- Ability to lead design reviews and support transitions to production.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with customers to develop and document system requirements.
- Translate requirements into detailed specifications for large cabinet‑based systems.
- Lead design phases and support production transitions over multiple upgrade cycles.
- Perform system evaluations and trade studies to optimize implementations.
- Coordinate hardware, software, and attached system changes and testing.
- Provide daily support for hardware/software development and problem detection.
- Contribute to proposals, cost estimates, and configuration management.
