Job summary

TSI Incorporated in Minnesota seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to lead development across mechanical, electrical, firmware, software, and cloud interfaces. You will join new product development leadership, coordinating with a project manager and product/marketing manager to guide multi-disciplinary teams and ensure customer requirements are met.

The role emphasizes systems thinking, rigorous verification and validation, and mentoring of other engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering/science is required.
• 8+ years in technical product development.
• Demonstrated leadership in systems engineering or as an engineering lead/supervisor.
• Experience architecting and delivering embedded systems across hardware, software, and cloud components.
• Experience leading requirements development with stakeholders.
• Proven leadership in technical direction and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of the overall technical solution for new product development projects, including system architecture and cross-disciplinary guidance.
• Generate technical requirements based on customer needs, tradeoffs, and production considerations.
• Develop system architecture ensuring modular subsystems and interfaces meet requirements.
• Provide high level system context to mechanical, electronics, firmware, and software teams and validate outcomes.
• Coordinate the technical project schedule with the overall project plan in collaboration with the project manager.
• Drive subsystem completion and integration while ensuring quality and fitness for purpose.
• Ensure verification and validation methods align with product requirements.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and effective communication with senior management and customers.
• Mentor other systems engineers and develop mentoring resources.
