BDATech in Chandler, AZ is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design rugged electronic systems for military applications. You will own full lifecycle electrical design, prototyping, testing, and documentation in a fast-paced multidisciplinary team.

The role emphasizes hands-on development, board bring‑up, and collaboration with mechanical and software teams to ensure robust system integration and field readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field; master’s degree a plus.
• 3 years of experience in electronics design (defense, rugged electronics, aerospace, or similar preferred).
• Strong proficiency in circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium, Intercept).
• Experience with power electronics, battery systems, DC/DC converters, or embedded hardware is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of EMI/EMC best practices, signal integrity principles, and environmental/ruggedization design considerations.
• Familiarity with MIL‑STD standards and compliance testing procedures preferred.
• Comfortable with hands‑on prototyping, soldering, testing, and lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power analyzers.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electronic circuits, power systems, and board-level hardware for ruggedized devices.
• Create detailed schematics, PCB layouts, and supporting documentation.
• Perform electrical analyses including power budgeting, signal integrity, EMI/EMC evaluation, and thermal considerations.
• Oversee prototype manufacturing, perform board bring-up, and execute validation testing.
• Develop and maintain engineering documentation such as schematics, BOMs, test procedures, and validation reports.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration.
• Perform root-cause analysis and troubleshoot issues related to power, signal integrity, environmental performance, or manufacturability.
• Support compliance testing, including MIL-STD, EMI/EMC, environmental qualification, and other relevant standards.
