Job summary

Ernesta Inc. is seeking a Sales and Design Consultant (Design Assistant) for our retail showroom in Manhasset, Long Island. You will educate customers on rug choice, materials, and layout while delivering a frictionless buying experience.

You will wear two hats: design advisor and customer advocate, helping with inquiries, orders, delivery, and post-purchase support. This is a high-impact, customer-focused role in a small, visionary team.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a consumer-facing role or direct consumer sales/account management.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with customers.
• Self-motivated, curious, empathetic, and great listening abilities.
• Proficient with online software tools and 2D/3D design tools.
• Strong time-management, organization, and accountability.
• Ability to establish and improve processes and feedback loops.

Responsibilities

• Educate customers on rug selection, materials, and spatial planning.
• Be a customer champion—address inquiries and resolve order-related matters.
• Drive sales through proactive follow-up and outreach.
• Maintain a clean, on-brand showroom and deliver a high-quality experience across channels.
• Assist customers with floor plans and measurements; use CAD/adobe tools for visualization.
• Provide a memorable, delightful experience that builds loyalty.
