Job summary

Price-Chopper in New York is looking for a dependable packaging associate to support the production of ready-to-eat items in the commissary. You will pack according to batch specs, operate basic packaging equipment, and verify weights and labels to ensure quality and safety.

No prior experience is required; a high school diploma is preferred. You must be able to work in cold or wet environments, stand for long periods, and maintain clean stations while following GMPs and health protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• No prior experience required; commissary or food production experience is a plus.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and complete basic documentation.
• Willingness to work in cold, wet, or variable temperature environments.
• Dependable attendance and positive team attitude required.

Responsibilities

• Pack RTE items according to batch specifications, packaging requirements, and customer expectations.
• Operate basic packaging equipment (e.g., sealers, labelers, portioners) in accordance with safety and food handling protocols.
• Verify product weights, portion sizes, labeling, and packaging integrity.
• Assemble packaging components and ensure availability at workstations.
• Assist with final boxing, palletizing, and staging of finished goods for shipment.
• Maintain clean and organized packaging stations and adhere to sanitation and allergen control procedures.
• Complete packaging logs, lot tracking forms, and cleaning checklists as required.
• Communicate product discrepancies, equipment issues, or production delays to supervisors promptly.
• Support prep and ingredient staging as needed.
• Follow all GMPs, PPE requirements, and food safety protocols at all times.
• Report any food safety, quality, or GMP concerns to Supervisors or FSQA immediately.
