Job summary

Rosenbauer America is seeking a Body Fabricator to perform metal fabrication for the fire apparatus body. You will read blueprints/specifications to assemble, weld, sand, and bolt components and mount the body and pump house onto the subframe.

You will work from blueprints, follow safety policies, and support shop needs; requires high school diploma and MIG/TIG experience; welding diploma preferred; driving may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months’ experience using MIG and TIG welding equipment is required.
• Welding diploma/certificate is preferred.

Position Summary

The Body Fabricator is responsible for the metal fabrication of multiple components of the fire apparatus's body. They must be able to read and follow blueprints/specifications to complete objectives. A Body fabricator welds, sands, cuts, and bolts materials to build the body of the fire apparatus. They will also mount body and pump house onto the subframe of the fire apparatus as well as fill in where needed within the shop.

Knowledge, Education, And/or Experience

• High school diploma/GED required.
• 6 months’ experience using MIG and TIG welding equipment is required.
• Welding diploma/certificate is preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

• Knowledge of basic inspection tools, machining skills or related fields.
• Able to recognize the importance and adhere to all safety policies to promote a safe working environment.
• Able to read and work from blueprints/spec book.
• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
