Job summary

UF Health Central Florida is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for UF Health Spanish Plaines Hospital in The Villages, FL. The role supports patient care under the supervision of the Director/Manager, performing assessments and delivering respiratory therapy per physician orders and professional guidelines.

The ideal candidate will hold a High School Diploma/GED, be a Registered Respiratory Therapist with Florida licensure, and possess BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required, with some college, business, technical training, or Associates of Science Degree (preferred).
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Current Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist license (or eligible).
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy under the direction of the Director/Manager using AARC guidelines and professional conduct.
• Perform respiratory assessments, implement, deliver and evaluate therapy per orders.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to address patient respiratory needs.

Responsibilities

The Respiratory Therapist acts under the direction of the Director/Manager, utilizing Respiratory therapy processes based on American Association of Respiratory Care Guidelines, Statement of Ethics and Professional Conduct: facilitating patient care with the healthcare team, making respiratory assessment, implementing, delivering and evaluating the patient's respiratory therapy needs.

Qualifications

Education:

• High School Diploma/GED (required) with some college, business, technical training, or Associates of Science Degree (preferred)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist/RRT

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

• Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist
• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
• NRP

Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required:

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
• As applicable RCP staff assigned to maternal-child services will be required to have NRP and PALS certification. Therapist hired without NRP or PALS will have 90 days to obtain their NRP and PALS certification.
