Job summary

Day Kimball Health is seeking a Per-Diem Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our Respiratory department in Putnam, CT. The role involves providing aerosol therapy, ABG analysis, oxygen therapy, ventilator care, and resuscitations for adult and neonatal patients under supervision.

Strong clinical assessment and bedside judgment are essential, as is participation in ongoing education and departmental programs.

Qualifications

• Current CT license to practice respiratory therapy is required.
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist certification preferred.
• American Heart Association CPR certification or equivalent within 3 months of hire is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory procedures: aerosol therapy, ABG’s, oxygen therapy, ventilator care, overnight oximetry, resuscitations; including adult and neonatal patients.
• Conducts clinical assessment on patients receiving respiratory services with appropriate recommendations to physicians.
• Participates in inservice educational programs and department projects as requested.
• Willing to rotate shifts or handle odd schedules as needed and to orient new staff or students.
