Job summary

CHS Career Site is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to administer respiratory treatments, assess patients and implement care plans under physician orders. The role includes ABG puncture procedures, ventilator management and clear documentation to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Proficient in administering pharmacological, diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with healthcare teams, patients, and families.
• Skilled in patient assessment, ventilator management and airway maintenance.
• Competent in using EMR systems for documentation and reporting.
• Knowledge of safety, regulatory standards and infection control.

Responsibilities

• Administers advanced respiratory treatments and monitors patient responses.
• Orients patient to treatment modality prior to procedure to ensure cooperation.
• Performs and documents ABG punctures accurately and reports results promptly.
• Assists physicians with bedside procedures as assigned.
• Performs pulmonary testing procedures as assigned.
• Follows respiratory protocols and safety guidelines during all procedures.
• Maintains respiratory therapy equipment and ensures proper functioning and safety.
• Implements physician orders accurately and documents treatments clearly.
• Maintains PPE usage and patient identification for infection control.
