Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Ground Control Station Technician Lead to support an Air Force RP A unit at Shaw AFB, SC. The role involves maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of GCS electronics and IT systems, with supervisory duties over junior technicians.

Ideal candidates have extensive avionics experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work with AF publications and MIS systems, while supporting 24/7 operations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or completed relevant military/vocational school curriculum.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Minimum of five years actual and recent Aircraft Avionics, Ground Control Station, SATCOM Maintenance, Military Aviation/Maintenance, and/or Communications experience.
• Must have working knowledge of basic and complex electronics maintenance.
• Must possess thorough knowledge of technical publications related to aircraft and ground control station electronics maintenance.
• Must know theory of flight and electronic flight controls.

Responsibilities

• Interfaces with the customer on a regular basis and provides excellent service and communication.
• Adheres to Air Force Instruction (AFI) and maintains records with AFTO 781s and MIS.
• Applies advanced technical knowledge to diagnose and solve basic and complex problems.
• Has independent judgment for circuit analysis, waveforms, and signal flow tracing.
• Provides technical guidance to lower-level technicians.
• Maintains, repairs, and installs electronic equipment including radar, SATCOM, and navigational aids; and related IT systems.
