Job summary

Oregon Catholic Press seeks a Manager of Permissions & Royalties to help optimize copyright administration across its Music Publishing division. You’ll ensure accurate copyright data, oversee licensing, and drive system improvements including AI-driven processes to boost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Accounting, Music or Technology.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Proficient in detail-oriented work.
• Experience with Excel and database management tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of U.S. copyright law.
• Adapt to changes in technology and systems.

Responsibilities

• Proactively seek opportunities for increasing copyright revenue and expanding our customer reach.
• Actively network and represent OCP within the publishing administration industry and among industry stakeholders.
• Responsible for the accuracy, timeliness and completeness of the key copyright information maintained within systems and databases.
• Supervise personnel performing Permissions, Contract and Royalty functions for OCP.
• Establish, document, train and maintain clear processes for entry of contract and copyright data.
• Establish, document, train and maintain clear processes relating to licensing OCP copyrights and recordings.
• Supervise the administration of Master Lease, Recording Producer, Author, Artwork and other contracts.
• Review royalty reports to verify payments align with contracts.
• Collaborate with departments to update processes for notifications, handoffs and validation of information.
• Serve as subject matter expert in royalties and permissions for new ideas and projects.
• Coordinate with legal on IP protection matters.
• Manage Contract and Royalty Administration Budget.
• Establish KPIs and assist in dashboards design and implementation.
• Test, implement and oversee new systems, including AI tools, with documentation and training.
• Identify and implement business practices aligned with industry standards.
• Identify and participate in industry events and partnerships.
