Job summary

Planning and Development Services in Florida seeks a Right-of-Way Permitting Specialist to review ROW Use permits, conduct field inspections, and assist with subdivision and site plan reviews. The role supports county infrastructure and sustainable growth, collaborating with engineers and planners to ensure compliance with codes.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years inspecting experience or engineering training, plus a Florida driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 4+ years inspecting experience.
• College or university-level training may substitute for required experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Valid Florida driver’s license within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Review ROW Use permit applications for compliance with UDC and regulations.
• Conduct field inspections on private, public, and County-owned properties.
• Assist review of subdivision, site, and development plans as part of permitting.
• Support safe, efficient, and compliant land development projects.
• Collaborate with planners, inspectors, engineers, and County staff to move projects forward.
• Provide backup support for Land Development Inspectors in field inspections.
• Maintain high standards for development and protect County infrastructure and public spaces.
