Job summary

LJB Inc. in Ohio is seeking a Mid-level Right-of-Way Engineer with 4 to 10 years of experience to join our Transportation Practice. You will lead ROW plans, conduct boundary analysis, and coordinate with utilities and agencies to advance projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Surveying, or a related field.
• Active licensure as Professional Surveyor (PS) in Ohio.
• Prequalification by ODOT as Right of Way Designer and/or Reviewer.
• Minimum of 4+ years of progressive experience in right-of-way engineering and/or land surveying.

Responsibilities

• Lead right-of-way plans, plats, legal descriptions, and exhibits per ODOT standards.
• Perform boundary analysis and title research coordination.
• Oversee design elements impacting right-of-way (alignments, easements, drainage).
• Sign and seal documents per Ohio Board rules.
• Mentor survey and ROW staff, including technicians and juniors.
• Coordinate with project managers, clients, utilities, and public agencies for ROW acquisition.
