Job summary

Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) seeks a Transportation Engineer 2 to lead the access management and ROW permitting program in the North Central Region. The role involves reviewing land development proposals, coordinating permits, and advising on state highway impacts with internal and external partners.

Responsibilities include handling inspections, responding to access inquiries, and preparing permits and agreements while supporting SEPA notices and development decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the access management and control program and coordinate ROW permitting for state highways.
• Review land development proposals that may impact state highways and coordinate with internal/external partners.
• Evaluate permits, connections, and temporary encroachments; prepare and review permits/agreements.
• Respond to inquiries about access from the public, document findings, and provide recommendations.
• Support Development Services Lead in compiling relevant land use proposals and SEPA notices.
• Identify local, regional, and state land use actions impacting the state highway system.
