Job summary

Sound Transit is seeking an experienced ROW professional to lead complex property-rights efforts for design, construction and operations of facilities in the Seattle area. You will oversee ROW work for consultants and ensure alignment with standards and regulatory requirements.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a civil-related field and at least five years of relevant experience, with licensure as a Professional Civil Engineer or Land Surveyor preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil-related field and five years of civil/architectural experience.
  • Experience with deeds, easements, and property documents and interpreting plans for compliance and delivery.
  • Professional Civil Engineer or Land Surveyor licensure preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead agency ROW rights acquisitions to support design, construction, operation and maintainability of Sound Transit facilities.
  • Oversee ROW scope-of-work requirements for consultants across design phases and delivery methods.
  • Review and verify project deliverables such as plans, specifications, and easement documents.
  • Develop and administer ROW standards and processes in alignment with agency policies.
  • Interact with private property owners, utilities, and public agencies to secure necessary rights.
  • Ensure safety, compliance, and equity in ROW activities and project communications.
