Job summary

Dominium is seeking a Roving Maintenance Specialist to provide hands-on maintenance and asset support across properties requiring stabilization, temporary coverage, transition support, inspection readiness, or other critical assistance, with the ability to travel between communities.

You will assess property needs, execute action plans, perform repairs, supervise onsite teams, support preventive maintenance, prepare properties for inspections, and uphold safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Full-time maintenance experience, minimum of 3–5 years
• Special Boiler Operator License, when required
• Required local certification (e.g. boiler operator license, certified pool operator)
• High school diploma required, CRMT preferred
• Universal Freon Recovery Certification (EPA 608)
• Valid driver’s license, ability to drive and insurance required
• Ability to use hand and power tools
• General knowledge of building codes and laws applicable to the community

Responsibilities

• Assess assigned properties to identify maintenance deficiencies and opportunities for improvement
• Execute property-specific maintenance action plans to improve condition and readiness
• Perform hands-on maintenance including service requests, vacant unit turns, and preventive/corrective tasks
• Provide temporary maintenance coverage and lead on maintenance functions as needed
• Assist with vacant unit turnovers to support occupancy goals
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain building systems and equipment
• Complete and monitor service requests ensuring timely, safe work
• Support preventive maintenance programs and inspections readiness
• Conduct regular property inspections for deficiencies and action needed
• Assist with inspections for state, HUD, lenders, and regulators
• Assist with property transitions or acquisitions and shop setup
• Maintain maintenance inventory and procure supplies
• Obtain bids and coordinate work with vendors
• Monitor vendor work for quality and documentation
• Support on-call emergencies and safety compliance
• Maintain knowledge of safety procedures and OSHA requirements
• Identify safety concerns and capital needs for leadership
• Provide leadership, training, and coaching to onsite staff
• Coordinate work across teams to meet objectives
• Document work orders and inspections using company systems
• Collaborate with Roving Operations Specialist and cross-functional partners
• Provide project progress updates to leadership
• Identify improvement opportunities beyond initial scope
• Maintain flexibility to move between properties
• Maintain professional conduct with residents and partners
• Perform additional duties as assigned
