Job summary

Abode Communities in Los Angeles, CA seeks a full-time Property Management role focusing on compliance/HUD/TCAC, lease ups, and resident services. The position handles applications, certifications, audits, and reporting, with strong attention to Fair Housing and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience in Affordable Housing, compliance knowledge required.
• College Degree preferred. High School Diploma required.
• Minimum of 1 certification desired: NAHPC/TCS, HCCP, COS, or CPO.
• Strong working knowledge of Section 42 of the IRC, CTCAC Compliance Manual, HUD Handbook, and related guides.
• Team player but can work independently.
• Good communication skills both verbal and written.
• Valid California Driver’s License and insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Process tenant applications: marketing, accepting, qualifying, verifying income, maintaining waiting list, showing apartments, reviewing leases.
• Annually re-certify tenants by the effective date.
• Prepare for and assist audits from regulatory agencies and investors.
• Attend training to stay current with required certifications.
• Maintain tenant and unit files per regulations.
• Ensure compliance with Fair Housing Act for leasing and waitlists.
• Complete move-in files for approval.
• Assist Community Manager and train staff.
• Provide documentation for reporting (Urban Futures, CDLAC, TCAC).
• Walk units to ensure move-in readiness and adherence to policies.
• Prepare lease/renewal paperwork to company standards.
• Explain lease information to residents.
• Submit leasing reports and maintain communication with residents and stakeholders.
