Job summary

Cheney Brothers, Inc. is seeking a Router to design and manage delivery routes, calculate times, and optimize driver workflows. The role reports to Transportation leadership and primarily operates on a Sunday-Thursday schedule within a dynamic logistics network.

Responsibilities include maintaining accurate routing data, ensuring DOT compliance, and producing nightly driver manifests. The candidate will collaborate with drivers, sales, transportation, warehousing, and customer service to support

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience.
1-3 years distribution, logistics, transportation or related work experience.
Basic/Intermediate computer skills including MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

Establish cost-effective routes compliant with Federal DOT guidelines and balance customer service.
Establish routing procedures and schedules for optimized personnel and equipment use with driver safety emphasis.
Perform Roadnet routing maintenance daily for accurate, timely location data and route details.
Produce driver manifests and distribution nightly; analyze and report on KPIs and costs.
Recap previous days routing results and adjust standard routes as needed.
Create maps and driving instructions for drivers unfamiliar with routes.
